When to re-color?
The hair grows about half an inch each month therefore we suggest re-coloring every 4-6 weeks. Unless you are coloring virgin hair or have not colored your hair in over 5 months make sure to follow the touch up application timing for best results.
Going darker?
As long as your hair is not pale white like the inside of a banana you can color your hair as dark as you please. If your current haircolor is pale white please give us a call for assistance.
Going lighter?
Haircolor can only lighten virgin hair. It cannot lighten color treated hair. We recommend you shampoo your hair as often as you can with a strong shampoo. This will allow the darker pigments in your hair to gradually lighten. The pigments will lighten up about half a shade. Being exposed to the sun and hot tools accelerate the fading process. After about 4-6 weeks, you may color with one shade lighter. For example: If you were coloring with 6 light brown you may now color with 7 Dark Blonde. Make sure to follow the touch up application timing even though this is a new shade. If you are unsure, as to which shade to choose we recommend our hair color quiz. You can locate it here: http://tinyurl.com/yxau7g2o
Consumers wanting to mix shades? – we do not recommend
We do not recommend mixing shades. Our products were not tested to be mixed; therefore we are unable to guarantee your results.
Can I color over color treated hair?
Results shown on the box are on virgin hair. Haircolor cannot lighten color treated hair. If your hair is color treated, you may chose a similar shade with different undertones. For example: If your hair is colored with 5 Medium brown you could successfully color with 5RB Medium Reddish brown or anything darker. We recommend preforming a strand test to preview your results.

My shade is discontinued, what is the best alternative?
As consumers ourselves, we understand how disappointing it can be when an all-time favorite is no longer available for purchase. We suggest visiting the product page to find the closest match. If you have any further questions please feel free to reach out to our customer service team for assistance.
Can I save the mixture after use?
Once mixed the color cannot be saved. Also, once the color tint tube has been opened it cannot be saved for future use.
Difference between Excellence, Preference, Féria?
Preference, Excellence and Feria are permanent haircolors that must be mixed with crème developer. Superior Preference with patented fade-defying color and shine system is a gel consistency. The Optimized Fade-Defying System creates a rich long-lasting color spectrum with luminosity, shine and beautiful gray coverage. Even though it provides gray coverage your results with Superior Preference will still be dimensional and multi tonal. Excellence Pro-Keratine Triple Protection Color Crème is a non-drip crème consistency. Excellence provides 100% gray coverage. It is our most opaque and full coverage formula. Feria is inspired by fashion. It offers a twist on the traditional and gives edgy hair color - from bright red, platinum blonde, rose gold, metallic brown, to blue black hair color. Feria should not be applied over natural gray or white hair because it does not cover grays. Best product for gray coverage?
The best product for gray coverage is Excellence Crème. No permanent hair color protects better or covers grays better (compared to each leading competitor’s top selling brand)! For touching up your gray roots, you may also like to try our Magic Root products that offer anything from a temporary spray to a permanent root touch-up.

How to add warmth?
If you are looking to add warmth to your hair, we suggest coloring with gold and reddish tones. If your hair pulls red / brassy tones and you want to suppress the redness, we suggest choosing a shade that has ash and cool tones.
